Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Derda ÖZER

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Derda ÖZER was born in 1986 in Bolu, Turkey. He graduated from Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 2010. Between 2011 and 2016, he completed his residency training in the Department of Ophthalmology at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. During his residency, he spent two months as an observer at the Wills Eye Hospital, Ocular Oncology Unit. Additionally, he participated as a sub-investigator in several international phase studies. From 2016 to 2018, he fulfilled his compulsory service obligation at Hakkari State Hospital.

In 2018, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Faculty of Medicine. In 2020, he passed the advanced ICO exam and earned the title of F.I.C.O. (Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology). In 2021, he was granted active membership in the Uvea-Behçet Unit of the Turkish Ophthalmological Association. He became an Associate Professor in 2021.

His special areas of interest include Ocular Oncology, Surgical and Medical Retina, Cataract Surgery, Corneal Transplantation, and Uveitis. He has authored over 40 research articles published in national and international journals.
